Springtime Joy!

Hi HH Fans!
I always wanted as a child to catch some glow bugs in a jar but never seemed to be able to. When I saw High Hopes Stamps image called "Jenny Glow Bugs" I knew that I needed this stamp so I could relive my childhood LOL!
I decided on these cute papers from the Doodlebug "Spring Things" 6x6 collection! I though they matched Jenny perfectly! I have to admit originally I had my image stamped on a stitched rectangle background. Lets just say my attempt at some long grass didn't pan out and I had to end up fussy cutting Jenny out.  I popped her up on a lacey oval of clouds! Disaster adverted.....LOL. The "Springtime Joy" sentiment goes perfectly too ! Some Stickles, YNS enamel dots and a bow finished off my card.
Inside view with the "Sunshine And Sunflowers" sentiment!

Best Dirt

For this week's post, I gave myself a challenge. The challenge was to pick a sentiment and find a way to use it in a way that wasn't "normal".

It is gardening season so I picked a gardening themed sentiment and went through my stash to see what stamp I had to match the theme. I had quite a few gardening type stamps but I didn't want a "typical" stamp......and then I came across "Gordon Groundhog".......

Now, growing up we often had groundhogs dig holes in our yard and every year my Dad waged war on them......I don't remember him ever winning the battle but I do wonder if one of them was as cute as Gordon if he may have backed off a bit?
Gordon just makes me chuckle and he brings out a bit of the dry, cheeky sense of humour I've been known to have <wink>

Gordon is coloured with alcohol markers and cut out using a stitched rectangle die. The image didn't quite come to the edges of my die so I coloured some more dirt and used my Tuxedo Black Memento marker to draw the dirt line to the ends. I decided on a fairly simple layout for this card - I wanted Gordon to be the star of the show! Some patterned paper run through a polka dot embossing folder added the perfect texture. A Spade embellishment with a bit of twine and gumdrops finish off my card.

Little Missy's Smile

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

For this week's post, I would like to introduce you to an older High Hopes stamp called "Little Missy". I think she is totally adorable and would be perfect for a card for sooo many different occasions.

My card layout is based on this month's challenge sketch (below). I love using sketches when my creative brain is in hibernation - it definitely gives it a kick start!

I started by cutting a tag out  and cardstock background with my Cricut and stamping my image. After colouring her with alcohol markers I used a white gel pen to add some fun polka dots to her dress and bow. The sentiment was cut out and a crystal was added to the dot on the "i". Some twine, a flower and glittery gumdrops finish off my card.

You Got This!

I can't believe it's Thursday again already and my turn to post some inspiration for you!

This week I am having a hard time keeping a straight face while I was colouring and fussy cutting "Are We There Yet?". These two just make me giggle!

Add to that, my sister in law has decided she wants a tandem bike so trying to figure out which one she would be and which one would be my brother just adds to the humour for me.

I also chose to use the "Don't Worry" sentiment with this.......I mean, we all need a little encouragement from our friends once and awhile don't we?

I coloured these two up with alcohol markers and then started fussy cutting them. It was honestly one of those ..uh oh, what was I thinking moments but I grabbed my xacto knife and cuticle scissors and kept going - you can't take back the first cut after all! These two buddies are popped up with pop dots too.

I had some cloud background paper made from another project so I cut it out using a stitched square die and added some cement for a sidewalk, grass and a fence to create a little scene.
The sentiment was stamped, cut and mounted on matching cardstock. All of this fun was put on some bright, fun paper from Doodlebug and finished off with my favourite - gumdrops.
